Michael A. Amoroso
Michael A. Amoroso is Of Counsel to the Real Estate, Land Use and Zoning Practice Groups at Certilman Balin, and is based in the Hauppauge office.
Prior to joining the firm, for six years Mr. Amoroso was the Bureau Chief of the Suffolk County Department of Law’s Real Estate and Condemnation Bureau.
Under Mr. Amoroso’s management and supervision the Bureau, which consists of five attorneys, provides legal advice to various county departments and prepares formal and informal legal opinions related to real estate matters for county agencies including the County Treasurer, County Clerk, Parks Department and the Suffolk County Sewer Agency.
The Bureau provides legal support to the Department of Environment and Energy, Department of Planning, the Division of Real Property Acquisition and Management, and the County Executive’s Office on all environmental acquisitions. In addition, the Bureau assists the Department of Economic Development and Workforce Housing, the Department of Public Works, and the Division of Real Property Acquisition and Management.
Mr. Amoroso brings a wealth of experience to Certilman Balin. Before taking the helm as Suffolk County’s Bureau Chief, he practiced law for twenty years at two other Long Island law firms in the areas of commercial and residential real estate and general litigation matters including municipal law, personal injury, matrimonial and trusts and estates.
He earned his Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law, his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in psychology from the State University of New York at Albany, and is admitted to practice in the state of New York and before the Appellate Division, Second Department.
