Anthony C. Curcio is an Associate in the Real Estate Practice Group at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP. Prior to joining the firm, he was a sole practitioner and an Assistant Town Attorney for the Town of Oyster Bay.
As a sole practitioner, Mr. Curcio represented buyers and sellers in commercial and residential real estate transactions. He also represented landlords and tenants in matters involving lease agreements, non-payment proceedings, and holdover proceedings. In addition, Mr. Curcio represented businesses and business owners with a focus on corporate formations, the purchase and sale of businesses and their assets, and drafting employment and non-compete agreements.
As an Assistant Town Attorney, Mr. Curcio prosecuted residents in violation of the Town of Oyster Bay’s Zoning and Building Code. Mr. Curcio also successfully briefed and orally argued before the Appellate Division, Second Department (Leitner v. Town of Oyster Bay Planning & Dev. Dep’t, 143 A.D.3d 986, 39 N.Y.S.3d 502 (N.Y. App. Div. 2016)). In addition, he represented the Town on a variety of other matters, including personal injury and property damage claims, and drafted contracts and license agreements; and he was designated as the Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator for the Town Attorney’s Office.
While at the Town, Mr. Curcio also served as Counsel to the Zoning Board of Appeals, where he provided legal counsel, reports on findings, and conducted research.
Prior to his time in the Town Attorney’s Office, Mr. Curcio was a Code Enforcement Inspector for the Town of Oyster Bay’s Department of Planning and Development from 2006 until 2014. In this position, he inspected residential and commercial properties for compliance with the Town of Oyster Bay’s Zoning and Building Code.
Mr. Curcio earned his Juris Doctor from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 2013. Mr. Curcio also earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Long Island University/C.W. Post Campus in 2007, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Real Estate and Marketing from Florida State University in 2004.
He is admitted to practice in New York State, and he is a member of the New York State Bar Association (Real Property Law and Young Lawyers Sections), the Nassau County Bar Association (Real Property Law Committee), and the Suffolk County Bar Association (Real Property Committee). He is also a Notary Public.
