Ms. Appel represents both sellers and purchasers in the acquisition of subdivisions, shopping centers and commercial and industrial properties, along with representing borrowers in an array of financing transactions including SBA 504 loans and IDA tax exempt land issuances and PILOT agreements. She also represents landlords and tenants wherein her responsibilities include the drafting and negotiation of lease agreements.

Complementing the transactional work is Ms. Appel’s representation of major developers in all areas of zoning and land use approvals, including Article 78 litigation and has appeared in front of a variety of municipal and governmental boards. Ms. Appel also has a background in municipal law, having worked in both the Brookhaven and North Hempstead Town Attorneys’ offices.

Ms. Appel earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1993 from Ithaca College and her Juris Doctor from Hofstra University in 1996. Admitted to practice in the State of New York, Ms. Appel is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association.

She enjoys spending time with her husband, son and daughter and is an avid runner, having participated in several half-marathons.
